St. Anne’s Tamil Christian Community (தூய அன்னாள் தமிழ் கிறிஸ்துவ குழுமம்) was established on 5 February 2017 with the Holy Mass, by a group of Tamil-speaking Catholic families living in Sengkang, Punggol and Hougang. It was the first Mass celebrated by Fr. Antony. Approximately 50 families from St. Anne’s Christian Community (ATCC) were in attendance, with a large gathering of Tamil Catholics from various parishes in Singapore.
Our ministry is a member of the Singapore Archdiocesan Commission for Tamil Speaking (ACTS). Maria Joseph, who was the spiritual director of ACTS, received the great support and blessing of Fr. Francis Lee, who was the parish priest of St. Anne’s Church at the time.

The St. Anne’s Tamil Christian Community was established to fulfil the spiritual needs of Tamil Catholics in and around the Sengkang district who share similar culture, values and Catholic beliefs. Our main mission is to show the manifestation of the Spirit, which is given for the common good of each person. Our community aims to promote growth as individuals and also as a group.

Jovita Ho, in conjunction with Fr. Majo Marottikkal, our Spiritual Director. In addition, Fr. Benjamin Anthonisamy, the Spiritual Director of ACTS, also lends a hand occasionally.
Holy Mass, celebrated in Tamil, is hosted on the fourth Sunday of every month at 2PM in St. Anne’s Church for our Tamil Christian Community. Fellowship is also arranged and held at the Canteen after the Mass and other spiritual events. Updates will be provided via the parish bulletin and on WhatsApp.
Some examples of spiritual events the St. Anne’s Tamil Christian Community has initiated to constantly unite the Tamil Catholics living in and around Sengkang include:–
- Holy Mass in the Tamil Language
- Kirubai (Praise & Worship in Tamil)
- Anbiyam (Basic Christian Community in Tamil)
- Family Day
We invite our brothers and sisters to join us in worshipping the Lord together in Tamil as one big family, so that we may fulfil the spiritual needs of Tamil Catholics through service.

We do not believe in titles or channelling authority to a single person or group of people. Our ministry focuses on an effort that will be driven by any of our members who want to help improve the Tamil Christian Community in Singapore, both spiritually and socially. The Tamil Christian Community believes that children are our future and thus encourages them to showcase their talents in all our gatherings. We promote strong young individuals with Catholic faith, along with the Tamil culture and moral values.
