GENERAL INFORMATION

Dear Parents and Legal Guardians,

Peace be with you, and thank you for your interest in the catechetical programmes at St Anne’s Church. We are grateful for your desire to journey with us in the faith formation of your children.

We welcome requests for transfers from families coming from other parishes in Singapore, as well as registrations for younger siblings of children who are currently attending catechism at St Anne’s. Most of our catechetical sessions take place on Saturdays. Our Special Needs programme is an exception and is held on Sunday afternoons. Please note that registration for the RCIY programme is currently closed.

For families who have moved into the parish boundaries of St Anne’s Church and wish to transfer from another parish, we kindly ask for a letter of transfer from your current parish’s catechetical coordinator. This letter should include your child’s catechetical attendance over the past two years and a record of the sacraments received to date. This helps us to better support your child’s continued faith journey.

As we serve a large and growing catechetical community of around 900 children, and in view of limited catechist availability and space at certain levels, priority will be given to:

  • children residing within St Anne’s parish boundaries;
  • children with older siblings already attending catechism at St Anne’s; and
  • children of parishioners who are actively involved in parish ministries or communities.

These measures allow us to care for each child responsibly and to maintain a nurturing and supportive learning environment.

Parents and Legal Guardians are invited to complete the online registration form available on this page. Kindly ensure that uploaded files are within 1MB in total and submitted in PDF or JPG format. Due to the large number of enquiries we receive, we regret that registrations submitted by email cannot be accepted.

If you have any general questions, please feel free to contact us at sac.catechist@catholic.org.sg. For enquiries specifically related to the RCIY programme, which remains closed until further notice, please email sac.pastoral.formation@catholic.org.sg.

Thank you for your understanding, patience, and continued trust. We look forward to walking alongside you and your family as we grow together in faith.

Yours in Christ,
Catechetical Office

Love is an action; not a saying. Being a catechist… my little way of loving God…
Gracy Toh, Preschool Catechist
Thank you God for letting me grow with the children in faith and to serve joyfully…
Jenny Tan, P4 Catechist
I thought I was the one “GIVING” to the children, I have gained so much more from them and from the process. I have learned what service and stewardship is all about….. I do not need to be perfect, I just need to be available.
Bridget Lachica, CPL Catechist
Joining “CLAY” actually made me more involved with the Church and gives me a sense of belonging …. There is so much to be done, but so little helpers. Saying that you have no time is always an easy excuse, just put aside a few hours of your time and knowledge for the service of God and His Children, will actually make the Church a better place for our children to grow in their faith
Alan Tan, CLAY

About the Catechetical Ministry

The Catechetical Ministry provides on-going faith formation for baptised children and teens and prepares them for the Sacraments of Reconciliation, Holy Eucharist, and Confirmation.

We also conduct the Bridging Programme for those aged 9 to 12 years. It is suited for the following who are:

  • baptised with no formal catechesis or;
  • from overseas or;
  • unbaptised and wish to be baptised
To enhance the faith formation of our parishioners where the word of God is proclaimed and the traditions of the Catholic Church taught in an effort to have the faith of all become living, conscious and active.
Our Roles as Catechist:

Your vocation from God is not only as a teacher of faith but also to walk in the footsteps of Jesus.

The six fundamental tasks of a Catechist (GDC #85) are to:

  • Promote the knowledge of faith.
  • Give moral formation.
  • Provide liturgical education.
  • Teach how to pray.
  • Educate for community life.
  • Initiate into the missionary dimension.

Our Catechetical Family

Our Ministry consists of the following in order to serve St Anne’s Church more effectively:

  • Sharing our Faith (as above) from K1 to L9 (Sec 3) in Catechetical Sessions
  • Conduct Bridging for Children
  • Conduct preparatory sessions for our Special Needs Children
  • Children’s Liturgy (for Sunday 11:30 AM mass)

TIME SLOTS BY LEVEL for 2026

*All catechetical sessions are held on Saturdays with K1 to L6 in the morning, and L7 to L9, Bridging for children in the afternoons.  We do not have any sessions on Sundays except for Special Needs Preparatory sessions which are held on Sunday afternoons.  For RCIY, we are currently working on forming a new ministry and we are closed for registration.

**Please note that your preferred timings for primary level are subjected to availability upon completion of verification of documents at our office.
