St Annes Tamil Christian Community (தூய அன்னாள் தமிழ் கிறிஸ்துவ குழுமம்) was started by the
group of Tamil speaking Catholic families living in Sengkang, Punggol and Hougang on February 5th,
2017 with the holy mass. The St Annes Tamil Christian Community (ATCC) is a member of Singapore
Archdiocesan Commission for Tamil Speaking (ACTS). The first mass was celebrated by Rev Fr Antony
Maria Joseph, who was the spiritual director of ACTS with the great support and blessing of Rev Fr.
Francis Lee who was the parish priest at that time. Approximately 50 families from St Annes Tamil
Christian community attended the first mass along with a large gathering of Tamil Catholics from
various parishes of Singapore.

St Annes Tamil Christian Community is established to full fill the spiritual needs of Tamil Catholics in
and around Sengkang, who has similar culture, values and catholic beliefs. The main mission of the
Tamil Community is to show the manifestation of the Spirit which is given for the common good of
each person. The community aims at promoting growth as an individual and also as a group.

St Annes Tamil Christian Community does not believe in titles or channelizing authority to a single
group of people. It focuses on an effort that will be driven by anyone in ATCC who wants to help and
improve Tamil Catholic Community in Singapore spiritually and socially.
ATCC believes that Children are our future and so encourages kid’s to showcase their talents in all
our gatherings and encourages them to build strong young individuals with Catholic faith along with
Tamil culture and moral values.

ATCC is guided by the current Parish priest Rev.Fr.Jovita Ho in conjunction with the Spiritual Director
Rev . Fr. Majo Morttakkal and ACTS spiritual director Rev. Fr Benjamin Anthonisamy of Archdiocesan
Commission for Tamil Speaking (ACTS). ATCC coordinator is representing the Tamil community in St
Annes parish council as well.

ACTS spiritual director celebrate Holy Mass in Tamil on the Fourth Sunday of every month @ 2:00
PM in St Annes Church for the St Annes Tamil Christian community. Fellowship is arranged in the
church canteen by ATCC after the holy mass and other spiritual events. Members of ATCC will be
communicated about spiritual events via the St Annes Church bulletin and WhatsApp.

Currently, ATCC initiated the following spiritual initiatives which constantly unite Tamil Catholics
living in and around Sengkang.
a) Holy Mass in the Tamil Language
b) Kirubai (Praise and Worship in Tamil)
c) Anbiyam ( Basic Christian Community in Tamil)
d) Family Day
Come, let us worship the LORD together in Tamil as one big family.
