Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion (EMHC), or commonly known as Communion Ministers, are appointed by the Parish Priest and commissioned to assist the Ordinary Ministers (Priests) distribute Holy Communion during Mass. They also assist to bring the Holy Eucharist to the sick or homebound parishioners.
