About Us
Founded in Dublin, Ireland, by layman Frank Duff approximately 100 years ago, the Legion of Mary is a Roman Catholic Marian movement — a lay apostolic association of Catholics under the powerful leadership of Mary Immaculate, Mediatrix of All Graces.
Here are some aspects of the Divine Mercy Devotion:–
-
- Veneration of the picture with the signature ‘Jesus, I trust in You’ ;
- The significance of prayer and adoration at the hour of grace (3PM, when Jesus died on the cross for our sins);
- The Divine Mercy Chaplet and the promises Jesus attached to it;
- Works of mercy.
Faith without action is useless. There, we are called to do corporal and spiritual works of mercy along with the Divine Mercy devotion. As they say, ‘a picture is worth a thousand words’ — and the sacred image has many mystical symbolisms, which help us focus on God and His mercy, and to go to Him in trust.
Roles & Responsibilities
Our members play a big role in the parish, helping out in different ways behind each ministry. This is made possible via the Immaculate Conception Praesidium:–
- Senior Praesidium started on 7 December 2015;
- Under Serangoon District Curia;
- Spiritual Director – Fr. Majo;
- 10 active members;
- Over 20 auxiliary members.
Tasks & Practices
ACIES — Serangoon Curia
Every March, we come together to consecrate ourselves to Our Lady, asking for strength and blessings to continue Her works for the Glory of God.
Taking Our Promise — to be a Legionary
As we enrol in this ministry, we ask the Holy Spirit to guide us. By His power, we can perform our duty as a Legionary. We host regular fellowship sessions and weekly meetings to foster a sense of community among our members.
St. Anne’s Feast Day
Every year, different ministries in our parish are offered the chance to run games or food stalls during the annual Feast Day Food & Fun Fair.

Our meetings are held every Monday at 8PM — either via Zoom or at St. Anne’s Church, in Room #04-08 (St. Henry). For our Junior Legionaries, meetings are held every Sunday at 3:45PM, either via Zoom or also in Room #04-08 (St. Henry).
The Legion of Mary’s auxiliary members are our powerhouse. Although they do not attend weekly meetings, they offer the Rosary and Prayers every day so that the active legionaries can continue to do the works of God through the intercession of Mother Mary.
Some of our works through the Grace of God include, but are not limited to, the following:–
- Apostolate in the parish (e.g. Catechism, RCIA, etc.);
- Visiting the homes of parishioners for evangelical purposes;
- Visiting the sick and elderly;
- Offering prayers for special intentions, attending funerals/wakes to offer prayers and provide consolation to the family members;
- Offering help in various areas as requested by the priests.
"Seeing his mother and the disciple he loved standing near her, Jesus said to his mother, 'Woman, this is your son. Then to the disciple he said, 'This is your mother'. And from that moment the disciple made a place for her in his home."
John 19:26-27
